Spring break will be here before you know it, and if yours doesn’t include going away, you may be wondering how to spend your days off or how to keep your dog entertained. With winter just wrapping up, your pooch is going to have some pent up energy that they’re going to want to get out, so treat them to some fun this week! The K-9 experts at Perfect Pooch have come up with four activities for you and your furry friend to do during spring break, so you both can break out of the winter rut and jump into the fun of spring!

Fetch the Day Away

After being cooped up all winter, your pup is going to be more than ready to get outside for some fun in the sun. With spring break (and warmer weather) around the corner, it’s the perfect time to get outside, toss a ball around and play some good old fetch. Whether you choose to go right out in your backyard or make an event of it and head to your local park, your pup will just be happy to be outside and playing with their favorite human-friend.

Spring Is in Full Bloom and Your Outdoor Activities Should Be Too

If you found your walks with your furry friend getting shorter and shorter during the winter months (it’s cold out there, we get it!), spring break is the perfect time to start spending more time outside again. Have you been jogging on the treadmill all winter? Now that spring has sprung, opt to take your jogging outside instead—and take your furry buddy with you! Do you love to hike? Now that the temperatures are rising, pick a day during the week to either hike your favorite trail or try a new one; just be sure to pack water and snacks for both you and your pup. Bored with your indoor workout routine? Switch things up—and include your doggy—with some agility exercises outside. Simply set up some fun obstacles in your backyard or local park and break a sweat with your pooch!

Powwow About a Camping Trip

What better way to spend spring break than by going camping with your dog?! Not only will they love getting to be outside for hours on end, but they’ll also enjoy exploring new territories with you. Just be sure to find a campsite that’s pet-friendly and find out what the leash rules are. If your pooch has a tendency to misbehave on a leash or chase after other animals, you may want to consider a training session before your camping adventure.

Treat Them to a New ‘Do

Whether you have a true break during spring break or not, there’s always time to pamper your pooch. Now that the season has changed, your four-legged friend is due for a new hairdo—and so are you! Prep for the new season by booking your dog a day of grooming during this week and opt for a haircut that will keep them comfortable for the warmer weather, while also being well-coiffed. And while they’re getting groomed, treat yourself to a haircut or spa day—it’s a win-win!

Whether you’re planning on going away for spring break and need boarding for your dog or you want them to enjoy spring break at a fun daycare, Perfect Pooch is here for you and your dog! Contact us today for all of your pooch’s needs.
